Frame

HW93809 engine hoist features one of the industries most durable, heavy duty steel frames made from reinforced tubular steel for better durability and stability of the tool making sure that it doesn’t bend under heavy loads. On the back of the hoist is a long mobility handle with soft hand grips for convenient movement of the tool. This tool moves amazingly easy even when carrying a heavy engine block thanks to 4 wheels under the body and 2 wheels under the moving handle of the tool. Although this is a pretty large and heavy tool, it also features a foldable design, legs of the tool can be folded upwards decreasing the overall length of the hoist for easier storage.

Jack

Hein-Werner HW93809 engine hoist is equipped with a high capacity hydraulic jack with manual hand pump for easy load lifting. The hydraulic jack features a patented bypass mechanism for extra safety when lifting loads. The hydraulic jack allows to quickly lift loads up to 2.2 tons (4400 lb) with boom in a retracted position. To lift a load firstly close the release knob by turning it clockwise. When load is correctly attached to the swivel hook, slowly lift it by working the manual pump handle. To lower a load open the release knob by turning it counter clockwise very slowly.

Legs and wheels

HW93809 engine hoist is equipped with two foldable steel legs and 6 wheels – 2 on the front of the legs, 2 under the main post and two under the mobility handle. The hoist has got adjustable legs with 3 positions for wide clearance:

  1. 22 inch (55.9 cm) inside leg width in the first position;
  2. 36 inch (91.4 cm) inside leg width in the second position;
  3. 50 inch (127 cm) inside leg width in the third position.

To adjust the position of each leg, remove the pin holding the leg to the frame of the hoist, reposition the leg in one of three positions and reinstall the pin through the pin hole of the leg. The length of the inside leg is 55 inches (140 cm). The height of each leg is 8 1/8 inches (20.6 cm).

The hoist is equipped with 6 wheels, each with 6 inch (15.2 cm) diameter, durable steel bearings allow for easier movement of the wheels. One leg has got a swivel caster at the front that adjusts in for easier and stable movement.

Boom

The engine lifter has got an extendable boom with 3 extension positions:

A boom with 3 adjustment positions is pretty unusual, since most hoists have 4 adjustment position boom, but this gives the tool better stability and durability when lifting loads. The boom reaches from 35 3/4 inches (90.8 cm) in a closed position to 50 3/4 inches (128.9 cm) in a fully extended position and has got a horizontal length of 84 inches (213 cm). The lifting range from the ground with retracted boom is 119 inches (302 m) and with an extended boom 130 inches (330 cm). At the end of the boom is a steel chain and a swivel hook that allows for easier attachment of a load.
